RACQ arranges flood replacement vehicle support program
RACQ members who lost their cars in recent floods can benefit from preferential pricing on new cars and help finding a replacement vehicle under agreements with three Queensland dealerships.
Around 2500 motor vehicle-related claims have been lodged with RACQ Insurance so far, with around 90% written off and GM Claims Trent Sayers says the agreements come in a challenging market when new or second-hand cars are hard to come by.
“Before the wild weather arrived, there was already a supply shortage and surging demand for new and used vehicles,” he said.
RACQ’s agreements with Eagers Automotive, Motorama Group and Autopact are intended to make the hunt for a replacement vehicle easier.
Eagers EGM Queensland/NT Gordon Haining says RACQ members will be provided preferential pricing on any new car purchase and benefits across its entire suite of products.
"Let us take all the hard work out of your search,” he said.
Autopact has 26 dealerships across Australia’s eastern seaboard and CEO James Welsh says the team is “ready to help” via dealerships that trade as Cricks, Coastline BMW, Caloundra City Autos, DC Motors and Rockhampton Auto Group.
Motorama has over 450 used cars for sale in Brisbane and MD Mark Woelders reports an uptick in demand from flood affected customers. He advises shoppers to get in early, be decisive and be flexible on colour or grade.
“Stock supply remains extremely tight,” Mr Woelders said.
Eligible RACQ members can access the arrangement via the Eagers Automotive, Motorama Group and Autopact websites.
