QUS acts on NSW strata legislation

Strata insurer QUS will offer $20 million public liability cover for all NSW strata risks from the end of November, in response to new legislation.

The NSW Strata Schemes Management Act requires the minimum public liability sum insured to double from the current $10 million.

Brisbane-based QUS says risks will be covered for $20 million from November 30 for no additional premium.

The eight-year-old underwriting agency is expanding rapidly, with newly opened offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Founder and GM Craig Hodgson told insuranceNEWS.com.au it is a natural progression for the strata specialist.

“It’s a logical expansion around the nation,” he said.

The company has grown from one person to employing 20 underwriters and 12 claims staff.

Ricky Cecil has become the Sales and Development Manager, while Brooke Trow has been promoted to his former role of Underwriting Manager.
