Quantrell mounts up

Melbourne broker Alan Quantrell has moved into the equine insurance world with a new liability product underwritten by QBE.

The new scheme will compete directly with the Aon product run in association with the Equine Federation of Australia.

Offering a variety of ways of belonging, the new “Australian Equine Alliance” scheme will offer personal accident and public liability cover to members of national horse breeds and horse sports associations and clubs that belong to the alliance.

Mr Quantrell says the new scheme covers both rider and horse “as long as the owner of the horse is a member of an alliance organisation”.

He says the scheme could attract as many as 100,000 members.
