QBE has relocated to its new Sydney head office at Level 18, 388 George Street in the city’s CBD precinct.

The insurer says the setup has been designed to support hybrid working.

“It makes it simple and seamless for us to collaborate, no matter where we are,” QBE says on its LinkedIn page.

Chief HR Officer for Australia Pacific Shiona Watson, an advocate for hybrid working, says the new office design is “really thinking about work as something we do, rather than a place we go”.

“We work flexibly, making the call on when we’re in the office or at home based on when it makes sense for the things we’re working on, where the rest of our team is and the needs of our customers,” she said.

A special event was held to celebrate the moving in last week, with interim MD Frank Costigan, Chairman Mike Wilkins and Chief Strategy Officer Fiona Hayes-St Clair in attendance.
