QBE is to sell its heritage-listed building in Pitt Street, Sydney, as it consolidates its national head office to one location in the city’s CBD.

QBE is reviewing whether to move all CBD operations to its premises in Harrington Street or elsewhere. The insurer also recently opened an office in Parramatta.

CFO Victor Walter says the reorganisation is part of a wider workplace strategy to promote collaboration and improve efficiency.

QBE has already relocated staff from three other office buildings it was leasing in Sydney and has almost doubled its workforce at new premises in Parramatta.

“Our people who were located in 115 Pitt Street, 345 George Street and 50 Bridge Street have all been amalgamated into either 85 Harrington Street, 82 Pitt Street or our Parramatta office in the past year as part of our workplace strategy,” a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
