QBE partners with Australia Post after personal lines revamp

QBE Australia has started selling home and motor insurance products to Australia Post customers as part of a partnership agreement between the two parties.

The Australia Post-branded QBE Home and Motor offerings will be followed with the launch of NSW Compulsory Third Party later this month.

QBE Australia Interim MD Frank Costigan says the partnership will play an important role in strengthening the insurer’s personal lines portfolio within its Australian division.

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Australia Post,” he said in a statement today.

“A key part of our strategy in the personal lines space has been to redesign and simplify our products with a customer lens.

“We reduced the steps needed to obtain an online quote, re-wrote our Product Disclosure Statements with clear and understandable language, and added helpful tips and intuitive navigation to our online portal to help customers better understand their cover.”

He says the insurer recognises “more than ever” the importance of online platforms and digital tools in communicating with customers.

The partnership will also leverage QBE’s customer contact centre that has been purpose-built with a customer-led approach to enhance the claims experience. This in turn will be backed by Australia Post’s extensive network and significant marketing and distribution capability.
