QBE has made three appointments to its board as part of its succession policy.

Group CFO Pat Regan, who joined the insurer in June, will be an executive board director from next month.

Jann Skinner, director and chairman of the audit committee for QBE’s local subsidiaries, and former Goldman Sachs Australia chairman Stephen Fitzgerald will become non-executive directors.

“With these changes we are continuing to build on our depth of insurance and reinsurance expertise at the board level,” Chairman Marty Becker said.

“This in turn allows us to continue to work closely with our executive team on the development and execution of the strategy for QBE globally.”

Isabel Hudson and Duncan Boyle will retire from their non-executive director roles on December 31.
