QBE has appointed Ed Rainsford as chief risk officer for its Australia Pacific business.

Mr Rainsford was previously group chief compliance officer, according to his LinkedIn. He started the new role last week, taking over from Jonathan Groves, who has become New Zealand and Pacific CEO, based in Auckland.

“Ed joins the QBE Australia Pacific business from the QBE Group risk and compliance team ... we are delighted to support ongoing career progression within our business,” the insurer said.

Mr Rainsford became group chief compliance officer in July 2022 after serving as chief of staff in the office of the group CEO.
