QBE appoints sustainability head
QBE has appointed Nicola Schroder as Group Head of Sustainability, effective immediately.
Ms Schroder’s responsibilities will include sustainability governance, strategy implementation, human rights and modern slavery initiatives, and driving social impact through the QBE Foundation.
“Nicola has been instrumental in driving our sustainability initiatives over the last five years,” Group Executive Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Viv Bower said today. “Her deep expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to integrate sustainability across the enterprise.”
Ms Schroder has been responsible for the development of a net zero operations road map while holding her most recent role as QBE head of environment and transition. She also chairs the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) Net Zero Working Group.
She is a member of the United Nations’ Environmental Program Finance Initiative Principles for Sustainable Insurance board, QBE’s Auspac Foundation committee and ICA’s climate and resilience committee.
QBE says it will begin recruitment to fill her previous position.
