PSC Insurance has partnered with IT services provider Somerville to offer cyber support to businesses that are looking for digital protection cover. 
 
As part of the venture, Somerville has worked with PSC Insurance to develop an IT cybersecurity checklist for companies to follow that would support their application for cyber insurance policies. 
 
The checklist advises companies to look at a range of security measures such as encryption, endpoint protection, data backups, staff training and admin checks. 
 
“Staying ahead of constantly evolving cyber threats is one of the major challenges facing Australian businesses today,” PSC Insurance Account Executive Tom Salter said. 
 
“To mitigate this risk, it’s crucial that businesses consistently develop, evolve, and improve their cybersecurity posture in today’s fast-paced environment.” 
 
Somerville CEO Craig Somerville says the checklist helps ensure companies have appropriate tools in place that are constantly managed and regularly updated. 
 
“They can demonstrate evidence of staff education as well as the implementation of policies that reduce the chance of attacks occurring in the first place.”
