Prefsure Life launches brand
The Australian arm of Prefsure Life – a South African-owned life company which is best known for its 2003 acquisition of Lumley Life – will officially launch its name to the Australian market on Wednesday.
The group has held onto some of the intellectual property the Lumley group prided themselves on, appointing former Lumley Life MD Geoff Black to the same position in the new company.
Mr Black says Prefsure’s immediate focus is to hold onto the cultural value in both companies, while applying a new systems platform derived from its holding company, Capital Alliance. The integration deadline for the new platform is June 30.
“Our overall focus is to further develop our operation in the Australian risk insurance market and to continue to grow organically,” Mr Black said. “We also remain committed to providing intermediaries with an unparalleled level of service and support.”
Former Prefsure MD Russell Howden will leave the group following what the group has called “his instrumental involvement in the successful integration” of the companies.
Other key appointments include Tony Thomas as COO, Frank Smith as Deputy Chief Executive, Athol Chiert as CFO, and Marty Carne as GM Corporate Services.
