Perth-based broker Mavco Insurance Group is expanding with the addition of a new office in Adelaide which it says will support a growing number of east coast clients.

Mavco, a member of Steadfast, represents local and multi-national companies operating in construction, engineering, financial services, health and resources.

The new SA office will be managed by Stephen Hughes, who is also joining the Mavco board and most recently held the role of GM professional services at Gallagher. He spent 13 years at Perth-based Strathearn Insurance Brokers, which Gallagher acquired, and also worked as an underwriting manager at Vero.

Mavco says it also has broker partnerships in Europe, Singapore, the UK and the US.
