Adelaide-based MGA Insurance Brokers has promoted GM Paul George to MD of the company.

He replaces Allan Amber, who has moved to Group Deputy Chairman of MGA and Whittles. Co-founder John George remains chairman.

Heath Amber, the MD of subsidiary underwriting agency Millennium, has been appointed to the MGA board as a non-executive director.

Mr George says the changes are intended to meet the leadership needs of the companies as they grow.

“MGA is a family business and has reached the stage that it is now transitioning into the next generation,” he said.

“This transition has been planned to make sure we have access to the wisdom and experience of the business founders and the youth and determination of the next generation.”
