One big family: IAG searches for a Melbourne home
IAG is moving to bring its various operations in Melbourne under one roof, with a brief understood to have been put to the city’s real estate market.
It’s understood the Sydney-based insurer wants a CBD space of about 30,000sqm to consolidate its CGU, NRMA Insurance, SGIO, SGIC and Swann Insurance operations.
At present it mainly operates from two office buildings in Collins Street and La Trobe Street.
Property sources say there are four likely options for IAG: the new Grand Central office tower on the corner of Burke and William streets, a new development in Collins Street, the second tower of Multiplex’s redevelopment of the former Southern Cross Hotel on the corner of Bourke and Exhibition streets, or a move down the other end of the CBD to Docklands.
