OAMPS takes big regional transport broker
OAMPS is showing few signs of halting its relentless takeover drive, adding another two enterprises to its stable. It has bought Victorian country-based brokerage All Transport Insurance Brokers (ATIB) and warranty provider TotalGuard.
CEO Tony Robinson says the acquisition of Wangaratta-based ATIB gives OAMPS an opportunity to increase its presence in country Victoria. “It is also part of a clearly defined strategy to build a presence in specialist insurance broking and underwriting agency markets.”
All 11 ATIB staff will be retained. Mr Robinson says OAMPS is pursuing a growth strategy based on identifying niche markets and enhancing service offerings to customers. “We are expanding our presence in these niche markets through the acquisition of businesses that have a proven record of service delivery and profitability.”
He says the second transaction will beef up the group’s warranty division.
“The OAMPS warranty division, which works through electrical retail stores providing an extension of manufacturers’ warranty up to five years, has been an excellent performer in the OAMPS group of companies. The acquisition of TotalGuard will only serve to build on this success.”
Over the past four months OAMPS has finalised seven acquisitions with combined annual sales of more than $60 million.
