OAMPS continues acquisition plan

Major broker OAMPS is adding two more brokerages to its expansive portfolio. The group has completed 12 acquisitions this year and plans to finalise more before the year is out.

Perth-based AD Irvine Insurance Brokers and Sydney’s Wedge Insurance Brokers have joined the group, adding more than 400 clients and $4.3 million in annual general insurance premiums to the company.

AD Irvine was established in 1991 in Cottesloe and will move to the OAMPS Perth branch at the end of the month. Wedge Insurance Brokers was established in 1998 and will relocate to OAMPS’ North Sydney branch.

OAMPS Group CEO Tony Robinson says both businesses have been very specific in their approach by “limiting themselves to servicing a relatively small numbers of clients”. Now OAMPS will introduce additional insurance and risk management products and services “as well as adding purchasing power for the benefit of their clients”.

“We also have allocated extra resources to issues such as information technology and compliance with the Financial Services Reform Act,” Mr Robinson said. “This will remove everyday pressures from these businesses.”
