OAMPS closer to domination
National broking network OAMPS has continued with its impressive string of recent acquisitions purchasing “Yourinsurancegroup” as well as “top 20” Sydney brokerage Chambers Gallop McMahon.
The acquisitions have been hailed by CEO Tony Robinson as a vital key in meeting OAMPS’ objective to be the dominant provider of risk management, risk transfer and insurance-related services to Australian businesses by the end of next year.
Yourinsurancegroup will operate under the umbrella of OAMPS Underwriting Agencies, and is expected to generate more than $8 million additional annual premiums for the group.
Mr Robinson says the acquisition will make way for a higher level of marketing and data management within the industry, with all transactions handled through an in-house IT system. “The system allows for real-time information, reporting and monitoring,” he said. “We will use this intellectual property as a benchmark within the group.”
The North Sydney-based Chambers Gallop McMahon (CGM) is OAMPS’ biggest single purchase since it began its acquisition strategy in 1998. The purchase will further reinforce OAMPS’ stronghold on the Australian corporate broking sector.
CGM was insurance consultant to the Sydney 2000 Olympics Organising Committee and has also consulted to the Federal Government. It is expected to add more than $100 million of premiums to OAMPS’ broking division.
Mr Robinson said the combined experience and skill that CGM contributes to OAMPS “will create an even greater advantage over our competition than already enjoyed”.
