OAMPS’ bl**dy good buy
Leading Australian broking house OAMPS has expanded its reach into the small and medium enterprise (SME) market with its acquisition of Melbourne firm BGS Insurance Brokers.
The 20-year-old brokerage boasts small business clients across Australia. It also considers itself a specialist in customer care. Indeed, BGS’s name stands for “Bl**dy Good Service”.
OAMPS CEO Tony Robinson says the acquisition should prove a winner. “BGS is an excellent strategic fit for OAMPS,” he said. “It increases our capabilities to provide insurance solutions and build great customer relationships in the SME market.”
The two businesses also share a similar philosophy (although OAMPS’ name is still fit for British television advertising). “Providing excellent customer service is the first and most important rule for success,” Mr Robinson said.
BGS founder Rob Parsons and his staff have moved into OAMPS’ Melbourne headquarters and will continue to work with their original client base.
