OAMPS acquires UK broker

OAMPS has boosted its UK presence with the acquisition of another broker. The purchase of Keith Johnson & Co comes a few months after OAMPS bought fellow Surrey-based broker Whichers Boylan & James.

OAMPS CEO Peter Blackmore says the move is proof the company's listed parent, Wesfarmers, is committed to increase its broking operations.

"The acquisition increases the scale of our Surrey-based operations and is a step towards the continued growth of our insurance broking operations in the UK."

Mr Blackmore describes Keith Johnson as a successful local broker handling a broad range of commercial and personal lines business.

The acquisition is part of the overall OAMPS growth strategy, according to National Manager Marketing Nick Hill. "It fits with our continued strategy of looking for growth organically and from strategic acquisitions in the UK and Australia."

Mr Hill says the broker's location in the leafy Surrey commuter belt will enable OAMPS, also based in the county, to further develop its connections with the local business community.
