IAG New Zealand subsidiary NZI has announced several strategic appointments.

National Sales Manager Jo Mason will take on the role of GM Corporate and Niche Business, including responsibility for the NZI Corporate Unit, NZI Liability and NZI Marine.

Claims and Personal Lines Manager John Chandler has been appointed to the position of GM Distribution, while NZI Marine head Mick Miller will become GM Claims.

NZI Commercial Lines Underwriting and Pricing head Stephen Everett will see his role expanded as GM Commercial Risk Services leading the commercial lines underwriting and pricing teams, as well as the reinsurance, underwriting audits and risk adviser teams.

Michael Carswell, the National Manager of NZI’s Client Placement Facility, has been promoted to GM of the facility.

NZI EGM Karl Armstrong says the appointments will take effect on July 1, with the positions of GM Personal Lines & Support and GM Management Services to be appointed in the coming weeks.

“I have recently announced a number of changes to align our business more closely to what brokers want from us and position ourselves to improve the service we provide,” he said.
