NZbrokers client numbers jump as expansion continues

AUB Group’s NZbrokers operation has grown rapidly over the past year, driven by expansion within the current New Zealand network and via its pursuit of acquisition opportunities.

“Our broker network represents more than 164,000 clients in more than 85 locations across the country, which is a 35% increase on 12 months ago,” CEO Jo Mason said.

The broking group’s partners increased to 60 from 56, and gross written premium grew 20% to $NZ586 million ($535 million).

NZbrokers was formed in 2015 when AUB Group brought various New Zealand operations together under the banner.

Ms Mason says NZbrokers is investing in technology and education to support broking needs.

“Creating meaningful content that has cut-through and uses new methods and technologies, taking into account how time-poor we all are, is important… for the industry in better serving clients.”

Last Monday AUB released half-year earnings for the overall group, including profit from New Zealand operations of $12.8 million, up 11% on the previous corresponding period.
