Specialist truck insurer National Transport Insurance (NTI) has reminded drivers to carefully secure their cargoes, after a rise in damage claims due to poorly restrained freight.

CEO Tony Clark says the National Transport Commission recently reviewed the load restraint guide, and NTI will use it to review claims data.

Accidents caused by poorly restrained loads are costly and largely preventable, he says.
