NTI launches trucking solution
A call centre with 24-hour medical assistance and advice aimed at helping truck drivers at the scene of accidents has been developed by National Transport Insurance. NTI’s Accident Assist network, launched late last week, is free for all its customers, who operate about 65,000 heavy vehicles across Australia.
CEO Wayne Patterson said a survey last year involving truck operators and brokers highlighted the need for a consistent approach to dealing with truck-related incidents. “We now understand our customer requirements much better and have identified the need to be more involved immediately following the accident,” he said.
The service includes over 90 operators around Australia and 120 individual recovery units. “Our fully accredited recovery team will have the right equipment and the right people at the accident scheme ensuring the most efficient recovery process,” Mr Patterson said.
“With this approach, we can ensure the load and truck have the best chance of being recovered with no further damage.”
