NRMA funds domestic violence support services
NRMA and Full Stop Foundation have together distributed $750,000 to frontline agencies supporting people experiencing domestic violence.
The insurer announced last year it had donated $2 million to the Full Stop Foundation, the fundraising arm of Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia. Thirty specialist service providers have now received some of that funding and will distribute up to $5000 to eligible clients, working with them to purchase essential items to support their wellbeing.
“NRMA Insurance is proud to support the Domestic Violence Impact Line and Cash Transfer Pilot to make it easier for people to access counselling and tangible support, which is critical to ensuring anyone who needs help can access it in a way that’s safe and appropriate for them,” NRMA EGM Customer Experience Danielle Handley said.
Priority was given to helping diverse communities, including indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples, those with disability, LGBTIQ+, youths, those on temporary visas and people in remote locations.
NRMA-parent IAG also introduced a Family and Domestic Violence Policy last year to help customers affected by domestic violence.
