NRMA fires back at ASX

The Australian Stock Exchange has demanded an explanation from NRMA as to why it kept quiet about its tender offer for NZ’s State Insurance, even when the media was claiming the deal had been done. But NRMA fired back, pointing out that an announcement about the purchase negotiations would have been misleading. According to the Australian Financial Review, NRMA also said any statement could have done commercial damage to the vendor, CGNU, as well as itself.
