The insurance industry is preparing to head to Perth in the next couple of weeks for Australia’s premier insurance event – the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Convention.

The 22^nd Convention – held from October 16-19 – sports the theme “Discover the Spirit of the West”, with the planning led by Perth broker and NIBA board member Alan Bishop.

The convention program includes a balance of work and play, from a cruise down the Swan River to an open forum on the Financial Services Reform Act. NIBA CEO Noel Pettersen says this year’s convention pays attention to regulatory issues, but also acknowledges that the industry is focusing on the wider future.

Alterations to the program will see the inclusion of Perth talkback radio identity Paul Murray to discuss how the public looks at current issues, and three medal-winning Athens Olympians.
