New Zealand consultancy rebrands as Halliwell Fire Research

Auckland-based consultancy Fire Research Group has changed its name to Halliwell Fire Research.

US-based Halliwell, owned by McLarens, was founded in 1954 and provides comprehensive loss consulting services worldwide. It expanded into Australia & New Zealand earlier this year by buying both Fire Research Group and GKA Investigations Group.

Under the new brand, Halliwell Fire Research will be offered in Australia and New Zealand, the UK and Ireland, and the US.

“We have built a unique, market-leading business which is at the forefront of fire research and modelling for the insurance, legal and related sectors,” Halliwell Fire Research Director Per Olson said.

"Joining the renowned Halliwell group of companies provides us with a platform to expand our offering in terms of both service lines and international reach.”

Colin Taylor continues to lead the former GKA business as Halliwell MD, overseeing the firm’s 20 specialists and operations across offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Wellington.
