New WTW chief flags ‘more to do’ on broking growth
New Willis Towers Watson (WTW) Head of Australasia Simon Weaver aims to grow the company’s broking business as he takes over from Andrew Boal.
As reported in a Breaking News bulletin last month, Mr Weaver’s role as Head of Corporate Risk and Broking has been merged into the top position, and Mr Boal has left the group after 27 years.
Mr Weaver highlights a “big opportunity” to increase market share in broking.
“There is still more to be done to develop the integrated propositions that Willis Towers Watson delivers for clients around the world,” he said.
“Along with our senior leadership team, I am committed to ensuring we deliver innovative insights and offerings to our clients that result in further strengthened relationships and improved business performance.”
WTW Head of International Adam Garrard says the group is “streamlining the Australasian operations to bring them into line with the structure we have in other geographic regions that form part of our international group”.
The arrangement in which the head of corporate risk and broking also leads the country or region applies to WTW’s operations across Asia, Latin America, central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Boal was appointed head of Australasia in 2016 and had been MD of Towers Watson Australia for 12 years before the Willis merger.
Mr Garrard says Mr Weaver “also has a strong knowledge and understanding of our human capital and benefits segment, having managed our combined Singapore operations through and after the Willis Towers Watson merger”.
