New Tower group MD caught up in restructure

New Tower group MD Jim Minto is returning to NZ for a board meeting on Thursday where a discussion will be held on restructuring the senior management team.

Mr Minto was previously CEO in Australia, and the role of NZ CEO had been vacant for five months. Keith Taylor, who leaves in three weeks, took on the job as caretaker before Christmas.

Tower has been searching for a NZ CEO since September, when it decided to integrate the business under a single geographic leadership. The respective heads of its NZ insurance and investment operations, Paul Hunt and Paul Bevin, have since left the insurer.

Mr Bevin was replaced by Tony Hildyard, who took over as CEO of Tower Asset Management in December, but Mr Hunt has not been replaced.
