New ship cover policy

Zurich subsidiary Associated Marine Insurers says updated terms for its ship repairers’ policy will boost Australia’s reputation as a centre for shipbuilding and repairs.

New terms in the product combine standard ship repairers’ liability with general and product liability.

National Liability Manager Barton Philips says the policy includes a new free risk management service providing contractual protection, and a berth occupiers liability.

“We identified that ship repairers could improve their risk management by offering their services under improved terms and conditions,” he said.

The updated policy also includes cover for navigation liability, accidental pollution liability, hot work liability and travelling workman.
