New premium funder plans market entry

A new premium funding company is promising “the highest standard of product and service delivery” when it enters the Australian market at some time in the future.

Although the firm is not yet operational, Ekol Premium Funding has already carried out extensive advertising and its website is live. However, it has given no indication as to when it will begin premium funding operations.

The website says the company is privately owned, with a senior management team “boasting an average of 25 years’ experience in the capital funding and financial services industry”.

“We offer premium funding, both insurance and non-insurance premiums, as well as a broad range of capital funding provisions to allow your business to grow, unencumbered by cashflow restrictions,” the website says.

It will work with Melbourne-based Victory Funding, which will carry out administration and underwriting functions. Victory was established by premium funding veteran Brian Crowe.

Ekol says it also manages “a diversified commercial property portfolio worth over $100 million”. It is backed by Australian firm Zebra Capital.

Its advertising campaign has included banners at AFL games and sponsorship of V8 Supercar Championship team Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.

However, there has been no indication of a launch date and both Zebra Capital and Victory Funding have declined to provide any official comment when contacted by insuranceNEWS.com.au.
