New Lloyd’s coverholder takes to skies
Catalyst Aviation Insurance, a new Lloyd’s coverholder in Australia, has been set up to focus on the aviation sector across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Melbourne-based agency has been set up by Brendan Warner, who has more than 35 years of industry experience, including underwriting, claims handling and managing aviation insurance business.
Catalyst Aviation is offering aircraft, helicopter, hangar-keeper, aerospace liability and remotely piloted aircraft covers.
“I have always wanted to establish an independent underwriting agency,” Mr Warner told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“In addition to traditional market segments, we will focus on the growing recreational aircraft sector in Australia. In Asia, we expect to focus on continued growth in the regional airline sector.”
Mr Warner ran Royal & SunAlliance’s Australian general aviation business from 2002 before moving in 2005 to Assetinsure to take up a similar position.
Assetinsure sold its shareholding in the general aviation underwriting business last year.
