New Lloyd’s Australia chief takes reins
Lloyd’s new General Representative for Australia Chris Mackinnon starts in the role this week.
He replaces Adrian Humphreys, who resigned last October to become GM Business Development at Steadfast.
Mr Mackinnon was previously CEO at Sydney brokerage Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers, which he joined in 2013. Before that he was based in London with Arthur J Gallagher for nearly four years, most recently as executive director strategy and development.
He spent 21 years as a broker in Australia, with stints at Marsh, Aon, CT Bowring and Gallagher before his move to London.
Mr Mackinnon will have a short time to get comfortable in his role before hosting Lloyd’s Chairman John Nelson, who arrives in Sydney next week.
Following industry functions and meetings in Sydney and Melbourne, Mr Nelson will visit New Zealand, where he will be guest speaker at a breakfast in Auckland hosted by the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand and Lloyd’s on February 16.
Mr Mackinnon will report to Singapore-based Head of Asia-Pacific Kent Chaplin.
