AMP has announced the appointment of financial services professional John Astbury as a non-executive director, leaving Richard Grellman as the only director from the AMP board of two years ago.

Formerly Chief General Manager at the National Australia Bank, Mr Astbury will take up the new position on September 1. He is replacing Pat Handley, who resigned from the role in May.
