New Aon country chief ‘thrilled’ to step up
Aon says its new Australia CEO is a “demonstrated leader“ who is well placed to drive growth at the broker.
Kevan Johnston has been appointed to the position following the recent promotion of Jennifer Richards to a regional role.
Mr Johnston is currently Aon Australia’s head of global and corporate, and the company says it will soon begin a search for his replacement.
Asia-Pacific CEO Ms Richards has welcomed the appointment and says Mr Johnston’s “business acumen and comprehensive understanding of the insurance market positions him to lead Aon in Australia to continued success.
“Kevan is a demonstrated leader in our industry, with the proven ability to build collaborative and high-performing teams to solve clients’ emerging challenges in an evolving risk landscape.”
Mr Johnston, who will take the role from April 1, says he is “thrilled” to lead the Australian team and aims to “unlock new opportunities for our clients and colleagues, driving innovation and success”.
He has spent more than a decade with Aon over two stints, and has also worked with Willis, Marsh and JLT during a 30-year career.
Mr Johnston will report to Ms Richards, and they will work closely together during the transition. He will also join the Asia-Pacific executive committee.
