Mulcahy does Suncorp shuffle

Suncorp CEO John Mulcahy has carried out the biggest restructuring of the Queensland-based bancassurance group since he joined it more than three years ago.

Five executive roles are affected, with Group Executive General Insurance Diana Eilert moving out of the insurance side of the business altogether.

Suncorp’s general insurance business will now be split into commercial and personal lines, a mirror image of how the banking side is run.

Group Executive Retail Banking Mark Blucher steps into the role of Group Executive General Insurance, Personal Lines. Mark Milliner has taken on the role of Group Executive General Insurance, Commercial Lines.

Mr Mulcahy says the change will ensure Suncorp’s resources are directed towards growth in general insurance business.

The group has also combined its retail banking and wealth management divisions to be led by one executive, Bernadette Inglis.

David Foster will be Group Executive, Strategy.

Ms Eilert’s new role involves leading an expanded central services portfolio made up of human resources, information technology and marketing.

The executives will assume their new positions from next month.
