Allianz will offer insurance to Mortgage Choice clients under a partnership announced today.

The insurer will handle building and contents, motor vehicle and landlord cover for customers referred by the mortgage broker.

“Our brokers will not provide advice,” Mortgage Choice GM of Product and Distribution Andrew Russell said. “All questions on the products will be referred back to Allianz.”

In addition to referrals, Mortgage Choice customers will be able to obtain insurance quotes via its website.

“While our 390-strong franchise network will remain our key distribution channel, we want the option to engage our customers using the channel that best meets their needs, and the online channel is growing fast,” Mr Russell said.

Allianz GM Financial Institutions Michael Winter says insurance “is an important consideration when taking out a home loan”.

“It is in both the broker’s and borrower’s best interest to put in place an appropriate insurance solution and ensure protection is in place.”

Mortgage Choice says it will launch a financial planning service in the next financial year.
