MGA adds strength in Victoria
Acquisitive Adelaide-based national broker MGA has strengthened its presence in western Victoria with the purchase of Terry Grant Insurance Agencies.
The acquisition, which takes effect on June 30, gives MGA new branches in Portland and Heywood, which will complement its existing network in the region.
“MGA currently has offices in Mount Gambier and Naracoorte in the south-east of South Australia and Warrnambool in western Victoria,” MGA MD Paul George said.
“The new offices in Portland and Heywood nicely connect these regions up.”
The latest deal follows MGA’s purchase last month of Canberra-based Capital Wealth Insurance Brokers.
Mr George says Mr Grant, who is an authorised representative of CGU, Allianz and QBE, will stay with the business for a period to ensure a smooth transition, and his three staff will transfer with the business.
Last year MGA purchased businesses in Queensland, Darwin and Adelaide and the latest acquisition brings its branch network across Australia to 28 offices.
