MGA acquires Access Insurance
MGA Insurance Brokers has continued its expansion into the Melbourne market with the acquisition of Access Insurance Advisers.
MGA will gain $2.3 million in premium income and four staff. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
Adelaide-based MGA moved into Victoria last September when it acquired the Melbourne portfolio of Gosford-based Affinity Insurance Services. Affinity and Access were NAS Group authorised representatives.
MGA GM Paul George says Access Principal John Kapolitsas will take a shareholding in the new Melbourne entity.
“MGA will also provide additional opportunities to John and his staff to develop and expand the business,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“Increasing our business in the eastern states is an essential component of our growth strategy and this recent acquisition will help achieve that.”
MGA has 24 offices with more than 160 staff and $150 million annual premium income. Mr George says it continues to look for acquisitions around the country.
The group has been in Sydney for 10 years and would like to increase its business there as well as in Melbourne and Brisbane.
