MDA National appoints new chief
MDA National has appointed Ian Anderson as its CEO. He replaces Peter Forbes, who is retiring after 39 years with the medical indemnity insurer.
Mr Anderson was previously CEO of St John of God Midland Hospitals in Perth, where he oversaw construction of a $400 million public-private hospital. He has also served as GM of HBF Health Fund.
Mr Anderson says he is joining at an important time for MDA National and for the medical-legal industry, as it evolves and strives to anticipate and respond to doctors’ needs.
MDA National was founded in 1925 and has 40,000 members and insureds around the country.
Mr Forbes delayed his planned retirement in 2013 pending a proposed merger between MDA National and MIGA, but the deal fell through last year.
