MDA National, AMA Victoria seal ‘strategic alliance’
MDA National is the “medical indemnity of choice” for Australian Medical Association (AMA) Victoria after the two sides formed a strategic alliance.
MDA National President Rod Moore says the alliance will strengthen the medical defence mutual’s position in Victoria, which has the second-biggest population after NSW.
The alliance formalises the ongoing collaborative relationship between the two sides.
“We are delighted to launch this alliance which features multiple benefits for MDA National and AMA Victoria members,” Dr Moore said.
The alliance will provide a range of benefits including greater access to education and promotion of doctors’ health and wellbeing, complimentary professional medical indemnity for post-graduate doctors and stronger advocacy on key medico-legal and medico-political issues.
“AMA Victoria is confident this alliance will deliver additional value to our members,” President Tony Bartone said. “We are thrilled to announce that MDA National is now our medical indemnity provider of choice.”
Earlier this month MDA National signed a similar alliance with AMA Queensland to formalise its position as the preferred indemnity provider in the state.
