Gabriele McDonald has become MD of Steadfast-affiliated underwriting agency Protecsure, taking over from Tony Mitchell.

Ms McDonald told insuranceNEWS.com.au she stepped up this month as part of a planned management succession.

Protecsure’s products include public and products liability cover for sole traders and small businesses with up to $2.5 million turnover or 10 employees. It also provides general property cover for a range of equipment including tools, light machinery and various instruments.

Ms McDonald, who has previously worked in senior commercial insurance roles at Suncorp and Allianz, joined the Protecsure board as an executive director in 2015.

Mr Mitchell has been with Protecsure for more than a decade and led its distribution expansion in the broker channel.
