NZbrokers has tempted industry veteran Jo Mason back to Auckland after less than a year in Australia with Allianz.

As insuranceNEWS.com.au reported in a Breaking News bulletin on Friday, she will become the AUB-owned broking partner group’s CEO from July.

She replaces CEO and MD Jim Harris, who will maintain his position on the NZbrokers board as founding director and work with Ms Mason on the group’s development.

“Jim and I are pleased to have secured someone of Jo’s calibre, experience and leadership ability for the CEO position,” AUB Group New Zealand MD Keith McIvor said.

“Her expertise, developed over an impressive career in insurance, will be an invaluable asset to NZbrokers as we embark on an exciting period of growth and focus on delivering value for our partners.”

A former long-time employee of IAG New Zealand, Ms Mason is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance women’s council.

“Jo has exceptional credibility in the market and has been a supporter of insurance broking groups,” Mr Harris said. “Her leadership, knowledge and capability is a strong fit for our high-performing group and our ongoing growth ambitions.”
