Marsh restructure creates new leadership roles
Marsh Australia has announced two major appointments as part of a restructure.
The company will “realign its core business” under three entities: Marsh, Marsh Advantage Insurance and Marsh & McLennan Agency.
Executive Director Scott Leney has been appointed to lead Marsh, which will continue to comprise risk advisory and insurance broking operations, serving corporate and middle-market segments. Specialty practices and Marsh Risk Consulting will be retained.
Mr Leney, whose title will not change, has worked with Marsh for more than 25 years.
Marsh Advantage Insurance (MAI) will launch as a national brokerage later this year, serving the SME segment. It will include the Schemes & Affinity, Private Client Services and Retail Life Advisers divisions. See earlier story.
Travis Kemp, previously GM of the Employee Benefits division and Marsh’s authorised representative business, has been appointed MAI Executive Director.
Marsh & McLennan Agency will continue as the insurance placement platform for Marsh and MAI. Lorna Molam remains head of the business.
Mr Leney and Mr Kemp will join Marsh’s Australian executive committee and, along with Ms Molam, will report to Pacific Region Head and Marsh Australia CEO John Clayton.
“The introduction of MAI has prompted the business to look at leadership and the depth of talent within the company, and to let each unit operate independently,” a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
