Marsh creates regional Risk Management Leader role
Marsh has created the new role of Risk Management Leader for the Asia and Pacific regions to assist larger clients amid a difficult environment.
The firm says Australia CEO Scott Leney will move into the position next month, while remaining Sydney-based, and will report to Marsh Asia CEO David Jacob and Marsh Pacific CEO Nick Harris.
Mr Leney, who has more than 30 year’s industry experience, has led the Australian business since the acquisition of JLT was finalised early last year. Previously he was Marsh Pacific CEO.
“Clients across the region face a rapidly changing risk landscape as well as an increasingly challenging insurance market,” he said.
It is understood the Marsh Australia CEO position will not be replaced, but Mr Leney will add the role of Country Corporate Officer for Marsh & McLennan in Australia to his responsibilities, taking over from Ben Walsh, who has left the company.
In that capacity he will work with executives in the group’s major broking and consulting businesses, encompassing Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman.
