Macquarie extends Queensland relationship

Macquarie Group has extended its relationship with the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB) to provide training, resources and access to the group’s products.

Macquarie Premium Funding CEO Gary Seymour says the relationship with the broker organisation now goes beyond financial support of more than $30,000, to provide information and products from the entire Macquarie Group that could help brokers and their clients.

“Information-sharing could range from analyses of Reserve Bank thinking to climate change, the economic impact of the Queensland floods and business strategies,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Seymour, a former broker, says training often ends at Brisbane, and Macquarie is looking to work with CQIB to provide more support to brokers outside the state capital, particularly in Far North Queensland.

The size and diversity of Queensland meant brokers had a wide geographic spread to cover,” he said. “We are working with CQIB on their key issues to help them grow their businesses.”
