Lumley signs agreement with Italian insurer

Lumley Australia has signed an agreement with the UK branch of Italian insurance company Generali Group and its parent company Assicurazioni Generali.

The UK branch entered into the non-life service agreement with Lumley General Insurance in Sydney on November 30. It is designed to assist Generali Group companies through the provision of local policy and claims-handling services for multinational clients with assets and insurance exposures in Australia.

Lumley Australia National Brand and Relationship Manager Phil Hetherington told Sunrise Exchange News the agreement is beneficial to both insurers.

“It is an excellent way for Lumley Australia to be able to service Generali clients with operations in Australia,” he said.

Assicurazioni Generali UK Branch CEO Chris Carnicelli, who briefly visited Sydney last week, says the agreement is an important step. “This is an important co-operation with a highly reputable insurer that can deliver quality expertise and service for our clients in a territory not currently represented through Generali Group’s worldwide network of companies and branches,” he said.
