Lumley Insurance has added four senior staff to its marine team, as part of a drive to enhance its service to brokers.

“While other underwriters are commoditising their marine offering, we’re strengthening the Lumley team to ensure we can meet the needs of brokers who are looking for underwriters with extensive marine experience,” CEO John Nagle said.

The appointments are Eastern Seaboard Marine Manager Heather Roberts, Senior Marine Underwriter Toby Blakeney, Senior Marine Underwriter Andy Hancock and Relationship Manager for Marine Everard Walker.

Mr Nagle says the move “highlights our commitment to marine insurance”.

“Our marine underwriters and claims staff understand the needs of brokers and the hazards of transportation and logistical risks, and pride themselves on offering exceptional customer service.”

Lumley covers marine risks including cargo, liability, commercial hull and carriers combined.

The company has more than 100 years of experience in the sector.
