British insurer CFC has expanded in the "fast-growing, dynamic" Australian market with the acquisition of Melbourne-based agency Solution Underwriting.

The London cyber specialist established an office in Brisbane after acquiring Insane Technologies in 2021, and with the latest deal will grow to five offices and nearly 100 staff across Australia.

"The team at Solution are a great fit for CFC," Group CEO Louise O’Shea said. "They bring an established footprint and an entrepreneurial, innovative culture similar to our own. We look forward to working with them to accelerate our combined Australian business.” 

Solution is a specialist agency focusing largely on financial lines products, and has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Its MD, Rhys Mills, says joining CFC will give customers access to a suite of specialist insurance solutions backed by the latest technology and a global team of experts. 

“CFC is an innovative, market-leading insurance business with a strong reputation in Australia and abroad,” he said. 

CFC also has offices in Belgium and in New York, San Francisco and Austin in the US. The Solution deal is expected to be completed this month.
