Lockton New Zealand appoints CEO

Lockton has appointed Craig Buckle as CEO New Zealand, effective from January.

He succeeds Peter Lowe, who will retire at the end of the year.

Auckland-based Mr Buckle has been Head of Corporate Risk since 2021. He has more than 30 years of experience in corporate risk insurance management and was previously National Corporate Manager at WTW New Zealand for almost 12 years, Country Manager at Allianz for almost two years, and a broker at Marsh for 17 years.

Lockton Pacific CEO Paul Marsden says Mr Buckle’s “visionary leadership” will strengthen Lockton’s client service offering across the Pacific region.

Mr Buckle says Lockton is well-prepared to continue its growth trajectory.

"We have terrific momentum and the capabilities and expertise needed to drive innovation and growth, deliver critical client solutions, and create value for shareholders. I look forward to partnering with our colleagues to write our next chapter,” he said.

Mr Lowe has been CEO since 2021 and previously held the top role at WTW New Zealand.

Mr Marsden said he had successfully set up three New Zealand offices in Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton, and assembled a team of 30 highly skilled professionals while earning the trust of many of New Zealand's leading businesses.

“Lockton New Zealand manages an impressive portfolio that continues to grow at a rapid pace,” Mr Marsden said. "Peter is an accomplished and highly effective business leader. We are extremely grateful for his contribution to establishing and instilling the Lockton culture in New Zealand.”
